We are looking for a Bookkeeper & Office Manager with outstanding organisational skills to complete our monthly accounts and keep our office running smoothly and effectively. You are a highly-motivated, friendly and dynamic individual with a capacity to stay curious. You have demonstrated an ability to manage multiple projects with exceptional attention to detail. You will think up opportunities for new ways of working that will drive scale, efficiency and growth for the whole team. At Simprints you will be working within a cross-functional team of passionate engineers and development professionals focused on different aspects of designing our products and deploying them in the field. Therefore, a deep-rooted commitment to collaborative problem solving and high quality communications is critical.  Past experience with the requirements below, and the genuine desire to develop world-class skills, are the ideal fit.

Technical Skills:

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent) with experience in managing all books of account and maintaining proper records as well as producing first draft monthly management accounts.
  • Experience in using Xero accounting software is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, work, and deliver towards objectives and key results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present your methods and ideas.
  • Inventive new methods of office management and administration in a different, non-corporate environment.

Human Skills:

  • Intellect. You have a strong ability to connect the business with day-to-day bookkeeping to produce “meaningful” financial information and help our finance lead drive key financial decisions at monthly meetings.

What are your responsibilities?

The role will be an integral member of the team, and will report in to the Head of Talent.  You will continue to evolve and maintain the administrative organisational systems within the company, working with the finance lead to produce the monthly management accounts, ensuring that there are sufficient resources available to meet the organisations priorities and options. In your role as  Office Manager, you will develop, implement, and evaluate strategic plans to support the rest of the team. There is opportunity to grow within the organisation. For the right candidate this could mean the potential to take on additional responsibilities depending on the needs of Finance and Talent Operations, and the wider organisation.  Your responsibilities will include:


  • Producing first draft monthly management accounts including fully reconciled balance sheet for the finance lead in preparation for monthly Finance Meetings
  • Ensuring proper administration of Simprints’ financial affairs, and assisting the financial lead on budget and financial planning strategies
  • Day-to-day management of the company’s various bank accounts
  • Managing of all books of account and maintaining proper records including processing all invoices, payments, receipts including employee expenses, debit and credit cards
  • Ensuring effective control and management of Simprints’ income and expenditure in order to provide meaningful, accurate, and timely management accounting information to team leaders
  • Ensuring all financial control systems, cash handling procedures, and other internal policies are followed by members of the team
  • Preparing information for financial reporting of various grant claims
  • Ensuring effective administration of Simprints’ taxation- PAYE, NIC, VAT, and R&D tax credits
  • Run payroll, and stay up to date with any changes or benefits agreed with the Talent team.  The long-term aim is to outsource payroll, so the responsibility will shift to maintaining effective relationships with our outsourced payroll provider

Office Management:

  • Formulating and implementing processes for the control and safeguarding of Simprints’ office equipment and materials
  • Leveraging a strong knowledge of the company’s backend organisational systems and company policies to be a point of reference for everyone else on the team
  • Keep office supplies organised & up to date
  • Uphold office utilities- cleaner, gardener, gas & electric, etc.
  • Make and maintain company insurance, property inspections, and filing of other important documents and certifications.
  • Collaborate with Talent Operations to create an awesome working environment.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to different squads (eg Project Operations) in the run up to field deployments
